The 84th Geneva motor show kicks off on 6 March 2014, showcasing the latest in new production cars and outlandish concept designs. Headline debutants at this year’s event include the new twin-turbocharged Ferrari California T, Audi’s first series production hot supermini, the new Mercedes S-class Coupe, and a hardcore McLaren 12C 650S model to take on the Ferrari 458 Speciale. The McLaren 650S (pictured) arrives a little earlier than McLaren planned
Just a few days age we had the first tease for the new McLaren 650S, a car McLaren said was aimed between the existing 12C and the hypercar McLaren P1. We speculated the 650S would be a tweaked 12C with more power and styling tweaks, and that’s exactly what it is. Driving has managed to publish the first official photos this morning (albeit in fairly low res) and it’s clear the 650S is the 12C with a healthy does of P1 mixed in for extra appeal.
2012 Honda Insight
We’re still not convinced that Honda has its heart in the Insight Hybrid, but they have no choice other than to present some semblance of competition to the stranglehold Toyota has developed in the hybrid market. So in an effort to make it more appealing, the unconvincing 2012 Honda Insight gets a bit of a facelift and, perhaps more appealingly for many, a cut in emissions to under the magic 100g/km. Titivations to the Insight for 2012 include a new front grill and bumper – just so existing Insight owners can feel fed up at driving the ‘old’ Insight – and a smaller spoiler and wiper at the back for better visibility.
